A man was seriously injured after falling one storey from a balcony, the police said.

The accident took place in Sant Antnin Road, Marsaskala just after midnight.

The man, a 31-year-old Syrian, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello is leading an inquiry.
