Completion of renovation works at Dar il-Mistrieh Floriana

Minister Jo Etienne Abela and Parliamentary Secretary Malcolm Paul Agius Galea visted Dar il-mistrieh elderly home in Floriana, were €828,000 were spent on renovation workd.

They explained how the elderly home has been providing care to individuals for over 35 years. The modernization effort was undertaken to ensure a better quality of life, allowing residents to live with dignity and independence.

This project, also supported by funds from the Welfare Committee, aimed not only to address infrastructural challenges but also to significantly improve the safety environment where residents' well-being is greatly enhanced.

Additionally, a multidisciplinary clinic has also been introduced, equipped with specialised medical services. This facility ensures that all residents receive holistic and personalised care in a private and dignified environment.

Abela said that apart from the extensive renovation carried out on the home, the government also issued tenders aimed to further modernise elderly homes in Cospicua and Msida.

"This is another result of the vision that the government holds for the elderly, where we are not only investing and offering a wide range of community services but also ensuring the highest level of service in residential homes," Abela concluded.

Agius Galea said that "this renovation is another step forward in enhancing the quality of life for our elderly. The modernisation of the elderly home reflects the government's continuous commitment to provide not only high-quality care but also an environment that respects the dignity and independence of every resident."
