€2.12 million for Fondazzjoni Arka to provide residential services for persons with disability

Fondazzjoni Arka is set to receive more than €2.12 million between July 2021 and June 2024, to provide residential services to persons with disability.

The agreement was signed between the ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Ministry for Inclusion and Social Wellbeing, Aġenzija Sapport and Fondazzjoni Għawdxija Arka

The services will be provided from three residences which the foundation has: Dar Arka, Dar il-Ġublew tal-Ħniena and Dar il-Madonna ta' Pinu.

Over 20 people with disability will benefit from this agreement, a government statement read, while a number of persons with disability will be able to make use of respite services at Dar Arka.

The Foundation will provide 23 beds, 13 at Dar Arka, and five at each of the other two homes.  Residential services provided vary depending on the level of disability.

Inclusion Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli said that "we are determined to work on improving everyone's quality of life. This is another piece of evidence that we believe nobody should be left behind."

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri said that the government is clearly showing that Gozo is a priority in every sector, while also stating that the aim is to improve the quality of life of persons with disability.
