36 Civil Protection Department officers have undergone 2 weeks of intensive rope access training at some of the most common rescue locations around the Maltese Islands, the Civil Protection Department said on Facebook.

"Training was conducted in part during last week's heatwave, making it more realistic but keeping in mind the officers' safety at all times."

This training exercise was organised in preparation for more intensive certified training planned for next September.
