Man given suspended sentence after violently resisting arrest while drunk

A 28-year-old man from Croatia who resides in Rabat, Gozo, was taken before the courts in Gozo today, for threatening, violently resisting and attacking two police officers at 00.15am on Triq Putirjal in Rabat, Gozo, a police statement read.

He was also charged with being drunk and disorderly.

The man pleaded guilty was given a 6-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay a €4,000 fine.

Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri prosecuted.
