A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Naxxar on Monday.

The police said there was a collision between a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a 33-year-old man from Gzira and a Toyota van driven by a 77-year-old man from Mosta.

The accident took place in Triq is-Salini at around 6:15am.

The motorcyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. The van driver was not injured. The police are investigating.
