Covid-19: 71 Italian students in quarantine in Malta – Italian media

There are 71 Italian students, all under 18 years of age, who are in quarantine in Malta, Italian media report.

Of these, 21 have resulted to be positive to the Covid-19 virus, with the remaining 50 being kept in quarantine because they had been in contact with the infected youngsters.

The teenagers are blocked in Malta, TGcom reports, saying that the Italian Embassy is coordinating with the Maltese authorities to ensure that the Italian citizens receive the necessary support at this time.

The media report also refers to the new measures that will come into force as from Wednesday after a spike in the number of cases.
