Virtu Ferries issues guidelines to passengers travelling to Sicily

Virtu Ferries have issued a set of guidelines for travellers to Sicily after the regional president ordered mandatory testing for Covid-19.

Sicily region president Nello Musimeci signed the decree on Wednesday, Italian news agency Ansa reports.

The same measure is also obligatory for people arriving from Spain and Portugal in the EU, and India, Brazil, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Virtu Ferries said that all passengers (aged 6 years or over) travelling to Sicily must present one of the following certificates:

- a negative swab test result (PCR or rapid) taken 48 hours prior to arrival in Sicily.

- an EU Digital Covid vaccine certificate.

- an EU Digital Covid-19 recovery certificate.
