A 74-year-old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Zurrieq on Monday.

The accident took place on Triq il-Wied, at around 9:15am.

The man was driving a Toyota Belta that was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta that was being driven by a 21-year-old woman from Sieggiewi.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Police investigations are ongoing.
