Two women were injured in a Taxien traffic accident on Sunday afternoon, the police said.

The accident involved an Audi A1 driven by an 18-year-old resident of Marsaskala and a Fiat Punto driven by a 23-year-old resident of Birkirkara.

Both were taken to hospital, with the younger woman suffering slight injuries while the other driver was grievously hurt.

The accident happened in San Anard Street at 2.15pm.
