Covid-19: 94 new cases as elderly woman dies

The number of Covid-19 cases stood at 94 on Saturday, while an elderly woman became the latest victim of the virus, health authorities said.

The woman who died was 85 years old, and she became the 430th person to die with Covid-19 in Malta.

There were 120 recoveried in the last 24 hours.

In all, the number of cases registered in Malta reached 35,286, with 33,764 recoveries.

Active cases dropped to below 700, precisely 696.

The number of swab tests carried out on Friday was 3,598, for a total of 1,136,982.

The average age of the 101 cases recorded on Friday was 38, the health authorities said.

There are now 38 people in hospital with the virus, four of whom are in intensive care.

In all, 783,983 vaccination doses were administered, of which 407,679 are a first dose.

There are 404,213 fully vaccinated people in Malta.
