51 new Covid-19 cases reported

51 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported by health authorities on Friday in their daily update.

53 people meanwhile have recovered, while no new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. 

The number of active cases now stands at 641.

A total of 36 Covid positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, two of whom are receiving treatment in ITU.

3,125 swab tests were administered on Thursday, taking the total so far up to 1,156,019.

Up until Thursday, 789,540 doses of the vaccine had been administered, with 410,087 of those being a first dose.

408,010 people are now fully vaccinated.

Malta has had 35,653 cases of the virus. 34,181 of those have recovered, while 435 have died.
