President of civil society group Repubblika, Robert Aquilina, has sought police protection after a Labour politician was concerned for his safety and told him to be careful, the Times of Malta reports.

The report reads that Aquilina didn't give the warning a second thought until the recent spate of internet attacks against fellow activist Manuel Delia began.

Recently, fake news emails and spoof websites have been created targeting the likes of Delia, PN MP Jason Azzopardi and others. Repubblika's own website had also been spoofed.
