A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing two iPads in two separate robberies last May.

Police said in a statement that joint investigations between district stations in Qawra and Sliema had led to the arrest of the man, who is from Floriana.

They said that the first theft happened on 24 May from an establishment in Qawra, and that the second one had happened the following day from an establishment in Sliema.

Security camera footage from the shops had led to the identity of the alleged thief being established and led to police seeing that the person was, in both cases, the same.

A search was mounted and the man was arrested on Sunday.

He is currently being held at the police lock-up and is expected to be charged on Monday.
