‘I recognise there's a gap, but that doesn't mean we will stop working' - Grech on surveys

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech has admitted that his party is behind in the surveys, but says that he will keep on working to bridge that gap.

A survey published by the Times of Malta last week showed that while the PN made a 3% gain over a survey last July, it still remains some way behind the PL.

The same survey also showed Grech's trust rating actually dropped by around 1 percentage point to 16%, remaining far below the trust rating of his political opponent Robert Abela, which stands at 49%.

Asked whether he believes he stands a chance with the election round the corner, and why he believes his rating is so low, Grech said: "I recognise that there is a gap, but this does not mean that we will stop working. I was always a person who, when facing a bigger challenge, works harder and moves forward. My duty is to work harder for more people to place their trust in me and the PN to lead them.  The survey also shows that people are responding to what we are doing and are moving, slowly, more towards the PN."
