Pope Francis may be in line to fulfil his visit to Malta this coming December, Italian media station RAI reported on Wednesday morning.
The news aired during a feature on RAI Uno’s TG1 news bulletin on Wednesday morning.
The report said that the Pope is expected to carry out an Apostolic voyage towards Greece, Cyprus, and Malta.
There has been speculation over the date of the Pope’s visit, with local reports indicating that it may happen towards the end of November.
Pope Francis was set to visit Malta in May last year, but had to postpone the trip due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He will be the third Pope to visit the country: Pope John Paul II came to Malta twice, while Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI visited more recently.
