Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) and its stations Television Malta and the soon to be launched TVM News+ have been given new logos as part of a rebranding exercise, the state broadcaster announced on Monday night.

The new logos were the product of a design competition for which there were 21 entries.  The design proposed by the company beespoke was ultimately the one which was chosen by the state broadcaster.

The designer of the new logos Ryan Calleja said that they wanted to include the Maltese Cross and the play symbol which one would generally find on a video into the logo.

The colours of the new logos are meant to represent the "wide range of content" of the state broadcaster and the "varied audience" which it attracts.

PBS Executive Chairman Mark Sammut said that the new logos are part of a rebranding exercise of the company.

New logos for PBS' radio stations and its website are set to follow as well, Sammut said.
