Speaker Anglu Farrugia’s mother Catherine Farrugia has passed away, it was announced on Monday.

Catherine Farrugia was born in Mosta, and was the mother to five children, grandmother to six, and great-grandmother to another six.

She got married at the age of 17 to George Farrugia, who passed away a decade ago.

Many MPs and other societies in Mosta immediately took to social media to send their condolences to the Speaker and his family.
