An elderly woman riding as a passenger was grievously injured when the car she was in crashed into a bollard.

The car, a Toyota Passo, was being driven by a man aged 78 and resident in Luqa.

The woman, aged 76, also of Luqa, was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.

The accident took place in Triq il-Gdida, Luqa, on Tuesday at 1pm.
