12 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported by health authorities in their daily update on the pandemic, as hospital numbers have continued to decline.

47 people have recovered, and with no new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the number of active cases has now dropped to 488.

15 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital – down by 8 since Wednesday – while four remain in intensive care.

814,067 doses of the vaccine had been administered up until Wednesday, with 5,798 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 37,048 cases of the virus so far. 35,697 of those have recovered, while 456 have died.
