A motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Gudja on Monday morning, police said in a statement.

The police said that they were informed of an accident at Dawret il-Gudja in Gudja at around 9am on Monday.

Preliminary investigations showed that a traffic accident had occurred between a Hyosung RX125D being ridden by a 23-year-old man from Qormi and a Toyota Vitz being driven by a 24-year-old woman from Zabbar.

The motorcyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical attention and he was there certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
