The number of new Covid-19 cases rose to 22 on Thursday, up from just eight the previous day, but the number of patients in hospital is now down to nine, health authorities said.

Two of the patients in hospital are in intensive care.

There were no deaths in the past 24 hours, and the total remains at 457.

The number of active cases is now down slightly to 328 after 27 patients recovered.

The authorities said that 822,097 vaccination doses have been administered.

The total number of Covid-19 cases registered in Malta is now 37,151, with 35,957 recoveries.
