The Environment and Planning Review Tribunal has accepted Moviment Graffitti's request to suspend works on the ITS site in Pembroke for the duration of the appeal filed by local councils, organisations and residents, the NGO said on Facebook.
"This means that the db Group cannot start works on its monstrosity consisting of two 18-storey towers and a 12-storey hotel, situated in a residential area next to two Natura 2000 sites and on top of two scheduled historical sites," the NGO posted on Facebook.
"Legal actions against this monument to greed were instituted thanks to a strong contribution from the public which enabled us to fight this project on different legal fronts. The struggle continues," the NGO said.
On 10 June, the Planning Authority approved the controversial db Group project in Pembroke, despite objections from local councils, residents and environmental groups. It was approved with four votes in favour and three against, after five other members of the board recused themselves from the vote.
An appeal however was filed.
