No Covid-19 patients left in ITU as just five remain in hospital, one patient dies

There are no Covid-19 patients left in Mater Dei Hospital’s Intensive Therapy Unit, with the number of patients currently in hospital also down to just 5.

Health authorities said in their latest update that a 66-year-old man died in the last 24 hours while positive for Covid-19 however.

The hospital numbers are an improvement over Thursday’s numbers, when 9 people were receiving treatment in Mater Dei Hospital, with two of those in ITU.

14 new cases meanwhile were reported, with 30 people having recovered.

That means that the number of active cases is now down to 311.

824,327 doses of the vaccine were administered up until Thursday, with 12,071 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 37,165 cases of the virus so far. 35,987 of those have recovered, while 458 have died.
