Opposition Leader Bernard Grech has written to the Broadcasting Authority, asking for an urgent meeting to be held no later than 15 October, over the situation at PBS.
The meeting was called due to the circumstances within PBS, “where there is a clear breach of impartiality and partisan manipulation in the presentation of government information.”
The Nationalist Party has been arguing that PBS, as the state broadcaster, has been favouring the government in the way it handles news. The PN said recently that the situation is going from bad to worse.
The PN has previously said that Carmelo Abela, Minister responsible for state broadcasting, is interfering in PBS reporting, creating imbalance in the station.
