A man and a woman were grievously injured on Tuesday evening after the motorbike they were on was involved in a crash in Marfa, limits of Mellieha.

The accident happened at 8.15pm, the police said.

It involved a Skoda Rapid, driven by a man from Eritrea, aged 37 and resident in Msida, and a Kymco bike.

The biker, aged 55, and the pillion rider, a 54-year-old woman, both of Victoria, were taken to Mater Dei Hospital with grievous injuries.
