37 Covid-19 cases reported as spike persists

37 cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Thursday as a spike in cases persisted.

17 people have recovered from the virus, taking the total number of active cases up to 271.

8 virus patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with four people in intensive care.

884,349 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 55,876 of those being booster shots.

Malta has had 37,777 cases of the virus.  36,635 of those have recovered, while 462 have died.
