63 new Covid-19 cases reported in highest spike since September

63 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by heath authorities on Thursday, as high case numbers continued to persist.

It’s the first time since 4 September – when 62 cases were reported – that cases had crept over the 60 mark in a single day.

25 people have recovered from the virus, meaning that Malta currently has 473 active cases of the virus.

16 patients – two more than Wednesday – are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, with three of those – one less than Wednesday – being in intensive care.

898,248 doses of the vaccine had been administered up until Wednesday, with 67,364 of those being booster shots.

Malta has had 38,071 cases of the virus. 36,725 of those have recovered, while 462 have died.
