Italian journalist Giampiero Galeazzi dies

Famous Italian sports journalist Giampiero Galeazzi has died on Friday, Italian media report.

He was 75 years old.

Galeazzi, nicknamed “bisteccone”, last appeared on TV three years ago.

Born in Rome on 18 May, 1946, Galeazzi won the singles Italian canoeing championship in 1967.

He joined Rai later and covered the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972.

He was a specialist in football, tennis and canoeing reporting.

He presented Rai's most followed sports programmes like Novantesimo Minuto and La Domenica Sportiva for several years.
