50 new Covid-19 cases reported as active cases now over 500

50 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities as the number of active cases in the country continues to increase.

10 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the total number of active cases up to 513.

It is the first time since 22 September that Malta has had over 500 active cases of the virus.

16 patients are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, three of whom are in intensive care.

901,238 doses of the vaccine have now been administered, with 70,036 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 38,121 cases of the virus. 36,735 of those have recovered, while 462 have died.
