Covid-19: Active cases jump above 1,400 as 111 new cases found

The number of active Covid-19 cases has jumped above 1,400 for the first time since early August, figures released by the health authorities show Saturday.

The daily cases recorded Saturday were 111, while 67 recovered, leaving 1,408 active cases.

No deaths were recorded, with the number of victims remaining at 470.

The number of people in hospital with Covid-19 dropped by two to 21 on Saturday, with three of them in intensive care.

The authorities said 988,115 vaccination doses have been administered, of which 149,834 were booster jabs.

In all, Malta has registered 40,376 cases of Covid-19, while 38,179 have recovered.
