A woman whose identity is still unknown was critically injured on Wednesday evening when she was hit by a bus, the police said.

The accident took place in Bork Olivier Street, San Giljan, at 7.30pm.

The bus was being driven by a 35-year-old Hungarian man who resides in St Paul’s Bay.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry.
