167 Covid-19 cases reported as hospitalisations drop by 7

167 cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Thursday as high case numbers continue to persist.

99 people have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has shot over the 1,500 mark to 1,532.

The last time Malta had over 1,500 active cases was on 3 August.

The number of patients receiving treatment in hospital however has dropped by 7 compared to Wednesday, with 16 patients now receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital.

Three of those are in intensive care.

1,002,643 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 163,186 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 40,967 cases of the virus. 38,645 of those have recovered, while 471 have died.
