Two in hospital after early morning car crash in Pieta

Two people have been hospitalised after a car crash early this morning in Pieta.

Police said in a statement that at around 2:45am a traffic accident occurred on Triq ix-Xatt in Pieta between a Fiat 500 and a Toyota Corolla.

The Fiat was being driven by a 40-year-old Korean man who lives in San Gwann, while the Toyota was being driven by a 33-year-old Somali man who lives in Fgura.  A 30-year-old Slovakian woman who lives in St. Paul’s Bay was a passenger in the Fiat.

Police said that the Somali and the Slovakian were taken to Mater Dei for treatment.

The woman was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, while the condition of the Somali is still pending.

Police investigations are still on going.
