A man was grievously injured when machinery toppled onto his foot while he was working in a quarry, the police said.

The accident took place in Wied Filep, Naxxar, at 5pm on Tuesday, the police said.

The 53-year-old Mgarr resident was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
