306 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Friday, while a woman has also passed away while positive for the virus, health authorities said in their daily update.

Authorities said that a 74-year-old woman had died while Covid-19 positive.

Meanwhile, 1,062 people have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases currently stands at 7,941.

99 patients meanwhile are receiving treatment at Mater Dei hospital, with seven of those being in intensive care.

1,184,262 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 315,683 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 65,249 cases of the virus. 56,404 of those have recovered, while 521 have died.
