202 new cases reported as two more Covid-19 patients die

Two more Covid-19 patients have died, while 202 new cases of the virus have been reported by health authorities.

A 55-year-old man and a 90-year-old man died in the last 24 hours while positive for Covid-19, taking Malta’s pandemic death toll up to 534.

1,253 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases down to 4,708.

103 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with six of those in intensive care.

1,195,041 doses of the vaccine have been administered by health authorities, with 322,092 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 66,009 cases of the virus. 60,384 of those have recovered, while 534 have died.
