A woman was grievously injured in a traffic accident at noon on Sunday.

The accident occurred on Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp, in Hamrun.  The 63-year-old woman from Qormi was hit by a car being driven by a 71-year-old Hamrun resident. The woman was taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.

Separately, another traffic accident took place at 11.45 am in Gzira, on Triq Edgar Bernard.

The accident involved a Vauxhall Astra driven by a 48-year-old woman from Msida and a Suzuki GSXS motorbike ridden by a 40-year-old Italian.

The 40-year-old was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and is suffering from grievous injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
