Five more patients with Covid-19 have died as the number of cases reported on Saturday was 195, health authorities said.

The five latest victims, which take the tally to 565, are two women aged 84 and 87, and three men aged 80, 83 and 86.

The health authorities said that 310 patients have recovered.

The number of active cases is now down to 2,555.

In all, 1,220,359 vaccination doses have been administered, of which 333,738 are booster doses.

There are 86 patients with Covid-19 in hospital, of whom five are in intensive care.

Malta has had 68,780 cases of Covid-19 so far. 65,244 of those have recovered.
