Bartolo told the delegation that the Maltese government will continue to defend the interests of Ukrainian people and show continuous solidarity.

Syurma, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian community in Malta, Alexia Melkonyan and Anna Turanska, noted that the aggression is not coming from Russian people, as Russian citizens have made contact to express their support to the Ukrainian people. They said that they hope the tragedy will come to an end soon.

They said that a list of needed items in Ukraine can be found through the Facebook page ‘Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Malta.’

Non Resident Ambassador to Ukraine John Debono was also present at the meeting.
