A man was critically injured on Saturday morning after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving a crashed, the police said.

The accident happened in Bieb ir-Ruwa Street at 6.45am.

The man, aged 20 of Mtarfa, lost control of a Peugeot, which crashed into a tree and overturned.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech is leading an inquiry.
