An election campaign divides Malta more than it already is, and so it was heart-warming to see a photo of two politicians from opposite ends shaking hands and smile.

It happened in Rabat on Saturday, when Minister Aaron Farrugia stopped for a coffee in a shop there, and came across Nationalist MP Edwin Vassallo.

The two shared a few moments together, shaking hands and smiling towards the camera as they exchanged business cards.

We would all like to see more moments like these. They serve to ease the tension. After all, we are sure that beyond the political rhetoric, on a personal level many of them have a good relationship.
