A woman was critically injured on Friday evening in a cycling accident, the police said Saturday.

The accident took place in Ghajn Qatet Street, Victoria, Gozo, at 11pm.

The police said that the woman was found injured on the road, with a bicycle nearby.

The dynamics of the accident are still to be established.

The woman was taken to Gozo General Hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Simone Grech is leading an inquiry.
