Cassola says Malta deserves better: Just do it…..Vote for change

Thursday, 24 March 2022, 12:40 Last update: about 3 years ago

Independent candidate Arnold Cassola has said that Malta deserves better, telling voters to go for it and vote for change.

This is an election where there is no competiton. The result is known: The Prime Minister for the next 5 years will be Robert Abela, who - along with Abela Advocates - has been squatting in a government building for the last 4 years ... without having a legal title to it, Cassola said in a press conference.

While the Maltese homeless, who need that building so much, have to go and find refuge in the Valletta soup kitchen.

It will be Robert Abela, the Mepa lawyer, who manages to make a bargain with an illegal, ODZ villa in Żejtun; Robert Abela, who has entered land business deals with criminals and apparently frequents kidnappers.

What our leaders have left us are a destroyed environment, unbridled development, institutions that work against the weaker strata of society and leaders who have sullied the good name of our country all over the world.

With a Prime Minister like this, who do you want in opposition? The Nationalist Party alone, a broken, weak and divided nationalist party?

"Or do you also want people like me and like Alternattiva, who - unlike the PN - are ready to talk about everything and not remain silent because Joseph Portelli donates money to us as he does with Labour and the PN?", Cassola said, with reference to the former party he led and from which he broke away due to its stand on abortion.

Do the Maltese want only in opposition people who go and meet Yorgen Fenech in spite of the fact that they knew that he had a Dubai account to bribe politicians? In other words, are the Maltese happy with Zammit Louis and Rosianne Cutajar in government and an opposition that is afraid to open its mouth so as not to annoy corrupt business people who control the PL and the PN?

In these five years, our leaders have tarnished Malta's name all over the world through the  Panama papers, passport sales, Vitals, Electrogas, Montenegro, and what not. We have leaders who are blackmailed by corrupt developers and the hunters' lobby.

Our Leaders are also chummy chummy with kidnappers and with some accused of killing a journalist.

And what about the PN in opposition? They say they will continue to sell passports, remain blackmailed by hunters and will continue to treat corrupt developers with velvet gloves.

"Malta deserves better. I know it’s not easy to change one’s ways after 20-30 years and vote for someone different. But you can do it," he said.

To ensure that Daphne's sacrifice is not in vain, it is important to vote for honest independent and third-party candidates.

The surveys speak for themselves: 20 per cent of the Maltese are seriously thinking of switching their vote for the first time. You can send a clear message to the PL and PN that you want things to change.

Well, just do it. Now is the time. Now we can switch vote and make history.

Let’s do it. We deserve better, he said.
