Labour Party supporters have taken to the streets and gathered around their headquarters in Mile End to celebrate the party’s third consecutive electoral win.

Videos and pictures shot by The Malta Independent show the scenes outside the PL’s headquarters in Hamrun, as the party faithful celebrate what is another significant victory, even if the margin is – thus far – unclear.

Carcades were heard around the streets of Malta and Gozo, as were fireworks in various localities.

The Labour Party has won the 2022 general election with an “absolute majority”, although both major parties so far have declined to offer up an idea on what the victory margin may be.

There are several indications however that the gap is over 30,000 votes, and could even be along the same lines as Labour’s electoral margin in 2017.
