Two women were grievously injured in a traffic accident in Tal-Barrani Road, limits of Tarxien.

The accident took place on Tuesday at 3pm, the police said.

It involved a Toyta Hiace van driven by a 41-year-old man of San Gwann, a Kia Rojo driven by a 38-year-old woman of Marsascala, and a Daewoo Matiz, driven by a 49-year-old woman, who had a 21-year-old woman riding as a passenger.

The women in the Daewoo were taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
