Health Minister Chris Fearne has tested positive to Covid-19.

The minister announced his positivity to the virus on Facebook.

He said that he did a swab test earlier today and it resulted to be positive.

Fearne said he took the booster shot and has mild symptoms.

He is in quarantine and will continue to work from home.

The number of daily cases of the virus have steadily shot up in the last few weeks, with many attributing the surge to the events related with the election.

Fearne was confirmed as Health Minister in the new Cabinet appointed by Prime Minister Robert Abela.

He took the oath of office on Wednesday, along with all the other ministers and parliamentary secretaries.
