Saturday, 2 April 2022, 14:25 Last update: about 3 years ago

Ray Bezzina and Chris Peregin have both quit the Nationalist Party positions they occupied after the electoral defeat suffered by the party, Maltatoday reports.

Bezzina was head of the secretariat and Peregin was employed as a political strategist.

Bezzina will work for the next for weeks to help in the transition process.

According to MaltaToday, Bezzina said: “I have full faith in Bernard Grech and I applaud him for deciding to stay on as leader, while seeking a fresh mandate. The party has already undergone big changes with him as leader and I have no doubt that over the next years these changes will also result in positive electoral results.”

Peregin’s contract came to an end on election day.

Peregin said: “I would like to thank the PN for the faith the party showed in me and I remain at the party’s disposal in any task Bernard Grech deems fit.”

Peregin is the owner of news portal Lovin’ Malta, having stepped down from company CEO on 31 July, 2021.

The parliamentary group of the PN is still to be completed with the casual elections and gender-corrective mechanism.

Once the process is finished, the party structures will be meeting to set the way forward.
