Five Covid-19 patients have died while positive for the virus, while 719 new cases of the virus were reported by health authorities on Tuesday.

329 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has now risen to 7,573.

The new cases were reported from 3,646 swab tests – meaning that the positively rate stood at 19.7%.

Details about the deaths or about the number of people receiving treatment in hospitals were not provided, and have not been provided since the Ministry for Health stopped issuing its daily bulletin on social media.

A total of 1,258,041 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far. 351,368 of those are booster doses.

Malta has had 82,845 cases of the virus. 74,227 of those have recovered, while 649 have died.
