Two more speed cameras are set to be installed on the Coast Road, the Local Enforcement System Agency (LESA) announced on Tuesday.

The cameras will be fully installed in the coming days, and are being installed in the southbound direction of the Coast Road following approval by Transport Malta.

LESA said in a statement that the camera form part of the road safety programme for this stretch of road and complement the ones which have already been installed to cover the northbound direction.

The said traffic safety plan for the Coast Road was set up following the recommendations of a magisterial inquiry and after a significant number of accidents, LESA said.

The location of the cameras will be covering sections most prone to accidents, with the aim of addressing these black spots, LESA added.
